On February 2, 2024 we introduced new names for the different variants of our Skylark Precise Positioning Service.

  • The “original” Skylark is now called Skylark Cx
  • Skylark RTK is now called Skylark Nx RTK
  • Skylark DGNSS is now called Skylark Dx

Why did we make this change?

The Skylark Precise Positioning Service has evolved a lot since its initial launch. At the time, there was only one variant of the service available. Today, there are three variants of the service, with different underlying technologies, different coverage and performance, and each fit for different use cases, but with some common features across the entire family of services. These new names enable us to communicate more clearly with our customers.

Which product is which?

The Skylark Precise Positioning Service (or “Skylark” for short) encompasses the entire product family. If you see us refer simply to “Skylark” in the support portal, you can assume the information applies to all three variants of the service.

Skylark Cx is the “original” variant of Skylark. It is a PPP-RTK service that offers uniform coverage continent-wide and < 10 cm accuracy.

Skylark Nx RTK is our network RTK service. It is the service of choice for customers requiring < 4 cm accuracy.

Skylark Dx is our DGNSS service. It offers uniform coverage continent-wide and < 1 m accuracy, ideal for small, battery powered devices such as handsets and wearables.

Does this impact my service?

No. There are no changes to your service. This is simply an update to our product names.
