On April 7, 2026, the China Satellite Navigation Office announced a reconfiguration of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System. Seven BeiDou-2 satellites are being retired, the legacy B2I service is being discontinued, and several PRNs previously held by BeiDou-2 satellites are being reassigned to BeiDou-3 satellites.
